MANHWAHIVE respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of manhwahive.com (the “Website”) to do the same. This Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) policy describes how we handle claims of copyright infringement in accordance with the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512) and applicable law.

1. Important Note About Our Content

MANHWAHIVE is an informational directory and editorial guide about Korean comics (manhwa). We do not host, upload, or store full comic chapters, scanlated pages, or translated comic content on our servers. Our pages contain editorial text, metadata, cover imagery used for identification purposes, and, in some cases, links to external websites. If you believe a link or informational element on the Website infringes your rights, you may still notify us using the procedure below.

2. How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe content on the Website infringes your copyright, please send a written notification to our designated agent:

Please include all of the following information:

  1. An electronic or physical signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered by a single notice);
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the exact URL(s) on the Website where the material appears, with enough detail for us to locate it;
  4. Your contact information, including your full name, email address, telephone number (optional), and mailing address (optional);
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf;
  7. A statement acknowledging that you may be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) if you materially misrepresent that material is infringing;
  8. Your physical or electronic signature.

3. False Statements & Misrepresentation

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability for damages. Please ensure your notice is complete and made in good faith before submitting it.

4. Our Response to a Valid Notice

Upon receipt of a compliant notice, we will:

  • Review the claim promptly;
  • Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material;
  • Make a reasonable attempt to notify the affected user or content provider, if applicable; and
  • Document the matter and respond in accordance with the DMCA.

5. Counter-Notification

If you believe content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to liuc46658@gmail.com containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location at which it appeared before removal;
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number;
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, for any judicial district in which the Website may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent;
  6. A statement that you will accept service of process from the complainant.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material in accordance with the DMCA, typically within 10–14 business days, unless the original complainant files a court action regarding the material.

6. Repeat Infringers

We may, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, disable or terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. We also reserve the right to remove any content alleged to be infringing without prior notice, at our sole discretion, and without liability to you.

7. Trademarks

All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced on the Website are the property of their respective owners. Inclusion of a title, logo, or brand on the Website does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by the trademark holder.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this DMCA Policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Effective date” above will be updated accordingly.
